Festival Opening Night: Shine a light on the darkness

For its sixth edition of the audiofestival BANGUOJA, we invite you to a live listening session of audio documentary Shine a Light on the Darkness (prod. Candice Savoyat, France, 52 min). Candice traces her family’s footsteps. First to Chemnitz, Germany, where her maternal grandmother was born to a Polish Jewish father, before fleeing to France. Then to Mauthausen, Austria, where her paternal great-grandfather, who had joined the Resistance, was deported. By connecting these two family histories, she brings them into dialogue with the present, gathering the voices of strangers met along the way.

Accessibility: The event venue is accessible via a ramp, but there is a small step at the door. If needed, our staff will assist you in entering. Please note that the restrooms are not wheelchair accessible. The documentary will be presented in the original language with Lithuanian and English subtitles.
