Andrius Šiurys

Composer of electronic, academic instrumental, applied music, member and performer of various groups. In his work, musicality intertwines with surrealism, the expression of the absurd, various images, peculiar masks. The word “dream” is often repeated in program titles, a clear line of insomnia-night-mysticism in the language of metaphors and symbols. The word plays a very important role in the musical expression of the works: epigraphs, poems, excerpts are often presented at the beginning of music sheets. In the aleatoric fragments of the scores, together with the textual images, the drawings of the artist Paulina Simutytė are presented.
