“The Filler” is an audio walk around the territory of the former Vilna ghetto and the intermittent turns of memories of the Holocaust. Sonic map of the journey consists of musical fragments specially composed for every space, while the direction of movement is defined by voices of four Holocaust survivors, who have moved from their hometown Vilna to Israel after WWII. Creators of “The Filler” have recorded their voices during conversations that took place in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa in May 2019. Composer of electronic, academic instrumental, applied music, member and performer of various groups. In his work, musicality intertwines with surrealism, the expression of the absurd, various images, peculiar masks. The word “dream” is often repeated in program titles, a clear line of insomnia-night-mysticism in the language of metaphors and symbols. The word plays a very important role in the musical expression of the works: epigraphs, poems, excerpts are often presented at the beginning of music sheets. In the aleatoric fragments of the scores, together with the textual images, the drawings of the artist Paulina Simutytė are presented.
